CRUISE PLANNERS CELEBRATES ‘WORLD’S LARGEST CRUISE EVENT’

WITH SPECIAL CRUISE OFFERS ALL WEEK LONG

ORLANDO, FLORIDA  – It’s the best time of the year to get the best deals on cruise vacations because October is National Cruise Vacation month.  And The World’s Largest Cruise Event, October 4-10, 2008, is fast approaching.  Fran Boggs, an expert Cruise Planners travel professional, is celebrating by offering clients incredible values and incentives on cruise travel to the world’s top destinations.

The World’s Largest Cruise Event is a celebration where lucky agents like me get to give the gift of great savings on cruises, and our clients are the guests of honor,” said Fran Boggs. “Best of all, Cruise Planners is extending what is traditionally one special night into an entire week of offers and incentives, so the gifts will keep coming from October 4th to the 10th.”

And by gifts we mean a prize-a-day giveaway that has been incorporated into this year’s cruise event week. Whereby Fran Boggs' clients can enter a daily contest for fabulous prizes and ultimately be entered into the week end grand prize of a free cruise. When you combine this kind of prize giveaway with the type of exclusive promotions and great pricing Cruise Planners can offer as a high-volume cruise retailer, it’s easy to see why the World’s Largest Cruise Event is the prime sales event of the year.

Organized by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), North America’s largest cruise industry organization, The World’s Largest Cruise Night encompasses the entire cruise industry, as top cruise lines join with travel agents across the country to offer unbelievable prices. Celebrity Constellation ~ Day Five

Friday ~ Costa Maya, Mexico…another beautiful port of call.  If you interested in history, you can visit the Mayan Ruins, safari adventures or horseback riding.  Again, we went shopping.  The shopping was right near the port and you really need to be careful when doing your shopping here.  There are no prices marked on most merchandise and the shrewd salesmen see the tourists coming.  Please, shop around…what one place will give you a price of $120 the next store will give you a price for $10 or $20.  The t-shirts however are priced well in Costa May.  We decided to stop at this fun bar serving food.  What entertainment…they had a host who kept the crowd going with free tequila and entertainment.  The crowd was very much involved in the entertainment.  One very serious word of advice, if you’re drinking the tequila, it will hit you like lightening!!!  It definitely sneaks up on you.

After a long day in Costa Maya, we decided to eat in our cabin.  On Celebrity besides what’s available on the room service menu, you are able to order what’s for dinner in the main dining room and that’s just what we did.  It was actually nice to sit and eat a relaxed dinner together…just the two of us.

An early night….

Thursday ~ Grand Cayman…Happy Thanksgiving!!  We were to anchor in George Town, but due to bad weather, (the street was actually closed off the previous day due to flooding), we had to anchor in Spott’s Bay.  It was a very short distance to George Town.  What a beautiful island!!!  We headed of course to go shopping.  What a nice shopping district…clean, lots of things to choose from…naturally, what you’ll find is a lot of jewelry stores on all these islands.  Some have some great deals, some have inflated prices.  You have plenty of time in port to go from store to store to see who’ll give you the best deal.  You’ll find many of the same items in each store, so comparing prices will be easy.

After we were done our shopping we decided to visit Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville for a bite to eat and a frozen strawberry margarita.  We ordered Volcano Nacho’s…what a huge portion.  Needless to say we couldn’t even get close to finishing it.  The frozen strawberry margarita was so good we had to have another one.  The server was friendly and attentive.  We even got a free shot from the young lady walking around with coconuts and a grass skirt.  We even got to catch part of the Miami Dolphins game during lunch.  Would definitely go back to this beautiful island and to Margaritaville.

There is plenty to do on Grand Cayman…the beaches are beautiful, the water is crystal clear, great for snorkeling and any water sport you may desire to do.

We came back to the ship to play some BINGO…didn’t win.  But the crowd was having a great time.  The ship has so much to do…you can do as little or as much as you want.  That goes for the ports of call too. There is a several Cinemas on board with a different movie playing each day.  There are several bar & lounges…

Mast Bar ~ bright open air bar during the day, night air & view the stars in the evening.

Bar at the edge of the Earth ~ formally known as Reflections, lounge by day, disco by night.

Seaside Pool Bar ~ near the main pool

Champagne Bar ~ enjoy caviar with wine or champagne from around the world

Martini Bar ~ great place for those who enjoy martinis

Michael’s Club Piano Bar ~ an intimate setting with live pianist

Cova Café di Milano ~ specialty coffee and tea’s

Rendez-Vous Lounge ~ the perfect place for a cocktail before dinner.

Each lounge has special entertainment each day that is listed in Celebrity Today (your daily guide to what’s going on aboard the ship).

We had an exceptional dinner for Thanksgiving in the San Marco Restaurant.  Missed the kids, but enjoyed our dinner company and the food.  We had a peaceful night, played Wheel of Fortune, (casino employees are very generous with their free drink passes in the casino) and took a moonlit stroll along the deck before heading back to the cabin.

Celebrity Constellation ~ Day Three

Wednesday ~ We awoke in Montego Bay, Jamaica…to another overcast day.  We woke up and got ready to go.  Before we left we stopped and had breakfast in the Seaside Café.  It’s a nice breakfast if you don’t want to go to the sit down in the dining room.  Upon getting ashore, we decided to do some shopping in City Center.  Found some great buys…but wasn’t too impressed with the actual shopping district.  Montego Bay has many great shore excursions that you can do and many beautiful places to see, but we opted for the shopping instead; besides we didn’t want to be late for our Hot Stone Massages.  We were going to do a horse back riding shore excursion, but it was about 3 hours long and didn’t want to be sore for the remainder of our trip being this was the first Port of Call.

Got back to the ship in time to enjoy the AquaDome Thalassotherapy Pool.  This pool is a must do; it’s a salt water pool that is great and totally relaxing with areas for you to lay down on as the jets message your entire body.  Finally, the massage!  We showed up at the Aqua Spa for our couples Hot Stone Massage to be told that we we’re unable to be together.  A little disappointed in that, but the actual massage sure made up for it!  They explained that they could do a regular couples massage together, but because of the warmers they need for the stones, they were unable to put us in the same room, so they put us next door to each other.  What pampering and professionalism!!!!  If you’ve never had a massage before and you’re on the shy side…don’t worry, they are very careful not to expose anything as they adjust the sarong during your massage.  They were extra careful to be extremely quiet also to keep your atmosphere relaxing and peaceful.  This is a definite luxury we will do again!!!  We didn’t want it to end!  We enjoyed it so much that we want to purchase our own stones.  You can’t even compare a regular massage to the Hot Stone massage.  You could fall asleep but you don’t want to because you don’t want to miss anything.  You can feel the warmth from the oil and the warmth of the stones as they massage even your feet and between your toes!  My mother’s generation was the “Calgon…take me away” era.  I’ll take the Hot Stone Massage any day!!

After our massage we didn’t want to do much of anything until tonight’s show and savor the relaxation.

We attended the Action Comedy of Thien Fu…what a character!  He was quick witted, funny and very entertaining!!

Went to dinner to the San Marco Restaurant and went to Fortune’s Casino and won $700 put together!  It’s seems we weren’t the only thing feeling loose after our massage, so was the Wheel of Fortune!  By time we got out of the casino the Island Night Celebration under the stars was already started.  We decided to go by and check it out for ourselves.  Party Band Axis was playing to a full dance floor.  I was impressed with the set up Poolside for the buffet.  Beautiful masterpieces carved into large watermelons…very artistic!  The buffet was beautiful with an array of desserts and cookies and some Jamaican Island food that didn’t just look inviting but tasted great too!  Hadn’t planned on staying out late again but was enjoying the party!

Celebrity Constellation ~ Day Two

Tuesday ~ A day at sea…on our way to Montego Bay, Jamaica!  The weather is overcast and windy, but we don’t mind and it didn’t seem that any of the other passengers did either because the ship has so much to do.  We were in classes all day for a Seminar at Sea hosted by Celebrity Cruises for Agents.  We actually enjoyed the class and the rep from Celebrity was great!  We got informed on all aspects of new and exciting things happening with Celebrity.  They’re doing sailings in Galapagos and Australia/New Zealand.  For those of you who don’t know, they also sail to Alaska, Bermuda, Canada/New England, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Europe, Hawaii, Panama Canal, South America and the Pacific North West.  They also offer Cruise Tours that you can do before or after your cruise.  Beautiful and exciting destinations!

Tonight before dinner, (we have late seating), we attended the show in the Celebrity Theater, “Spotlight Broadway”.  What a fantastic show with great lighting, sound and costumes!!  What talent on that stage!!  The show was a beautiful tribute to Broadway.  Some of the shows they paid tribute to were:  Chorus Line, Hello Dolly, West Side Story (one of my favorites!!), Phantom of the Opera and many more.  These singers and dancers were extremely talented and the audience was in awe of their talent, so much so that they received a standing ovation.

Had another exceptional dinner in the San Marco Restaurant and we ended the evening with some dancing and drinks in the bar at the edge of the Earth.  Even if you don’t like to dance, (which we do), it’s great to people watch.  Everyone was having a great time including some of the Celebrity staff.  A fun ending to our day!
